7-6-26    THOUGHTS      

There is awesome assurance in this reading, but there are necessary requirements attached. Master Luke 10:27   “And he [Jesus] answered, "You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind, and your neighbor as yourself."  That’s it, from our Lord. We cannot remove LOVE from this prescription!  ACTIVE LOVE must control and permeate our living.  A careful reading of the book of 1John  hammers the necessity of our loving!  

1John 3 ;14-19     We know that we have passed out of death into life, because we love the brethren.  He who does not love abides in death.  15  Everyone who hates his brother is a murderer;  and you know that no murderer has eternal life abiding in him.  16  We know love by this, that He laid down His life for us; and we ought to lay down our lives for the brethren.  17  But whoever has the world’s goods, and sees his brother in need and closes his heart against him, how does the love of God abide in him?  18  Little children, let us not love with word or with tongue, but in deed and truth.  19  We will know by this that we are of the truth, and will assure our heart before Him

Our Prayer:
O Father , thank You for love in all of its wonder and beauty.  How awesome is Your love that hopes!  Help us to love in deed and truth.  May we pass from death to life in our loving, O God.  Help us to “go and learn what this means.”   In the name of our Lord and Savior,   Amen.
